Our auctions begin!

24 Oct

As you know, this blog, along with Jeremy Northam Chat, Jeremy Northam Info and our Facebook page, are fundraising for the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in celebration of Jeremy Northam’s 50th birthday (on 1 December).

I’ve been rather overwhelmed by the generosity of our members and contributers to this blog and I’m delighted to tell you we have some really fantastic auction lots coming up. I’d like to send a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed items for auction.

The first one to go live is very special. It’s a signed, hardback copy of Derek Robinson’s wonderful WWII novel Piece of Cake. As some of you may recall, Derek very kindly spoke to this blog about the tv series based on his book, and we were also lucky enough to hear from actor Richard Hope, whose excellent portrayal of Skull Skelton was so memorable. Find out more about the auction lot, and how to bid here.

I have some other rather special lots coming up, including another signed book, some tickets for a performance at the Bristol Old Vic, an audiobook from Silksound, DVDs and even some chocolate! I think you should all find something you like! Keep an eye on this page here for all the lots as they become available for bidding.

Jeremy Northam Chat will also be running some auctions of its own, so do visit to take a look at what they will be. I believe they will go live very soon.

In addition to the auctions (or instead of, if you prefer), you can make a donation and send birthday wishes and thanks to Jeremy by visiting our Just Giving page. No donation is too small, and every penny goes to help train talented students become the great actors of the future.

I loved giving and in honor of Dirk as well as Jeremy. It was wise of you Gill to have Paypal
be an option, giving was so easy….then. You and all who work here for Jeremy or just love him and respect him as I do are to be honored. I love what you do and you do it in the right way. Dirk would be proud of you as well as Jeremy is now.

So don’t hold back people, give to the Arts that deserve it so and show our hand or let’s have a round of applause for dear, gifted, brilliant Jeremy. xxxxxxxxxx

This is exciting, Gill! Thanks for everything you’re doing to set up these great fundraising events!

Mr. Robinson was very generous to donate a signed copy of the book PoC. I remember enjoying it ‘way back when I first encountered Jeremy in the TV series and became completely smitten with Fitz. Little did I know…
